Course Description
This course covers the skills and knowledge required to apply workplace policies and procedures to maintain a safe work environment for self and others. It will help learners to identify work health and safety (WHS) hazards, assessing risk and following safety procedures in the workplace with minimal supervision.
This course applies to an individual working alone or as part of a team/work group and working in liaison with other shift team members, as appropriate.

Course Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, the learner will receive a Statement of Attainment.
Course Assessments
Competency is obtained through both theory and practical assessments. The practical assessment requires you to demonstrate the skills required to be deemed competent. The theory assessment will be undertaken in a written form.
If you feel you will be disadvantaged by undertaking a written assessment, please discuss with your trainer/assessor prior to the beginning of the time for the theory assessment.
Admission & Attendance
All attendees MUST have a USI (Unique Student Identifier). We are unable to issue a credential unless a valid USI has been provided.

The duration for this course is 8 hours split into 2 x 4 hour sessions (1 week apart).
There is a 15 minute break for morning or afternoon tea.
