Course Description

The 10830NAT Crystalline silica exposure prevention course provides learners with knowledge of the hazards and risks associated with silica exposure and inhalation. Learners will gain the necessary knowledge and skills to determine when and where silica and silica Containing Material may be present, the precautions that need to be taken if it is present and reporting procedures.  

The course also involves understanding each individual’s general duty of care to ensure the health, safety and welfare of all workers, visitors, contractors and others in the workplace.

Course Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this course, the learner will receive a Statement of Attainment in 10830NAT Crystalline Silica Exposure Prevention

This course will provide the skills and knowledge to recognise workplace health and safety risks and hazards, when working with crystalline silica containing products. You will be able to identify products containing crystalline silica, use products in accordance with legislation, and National standards, and identify the consequences of use and/or exposure to silica dust.

Course Assessments

Competency is obtained through theory assessments.  The theory assessment will be undertaken in written form.

If you feel you will be disadvantaged by undertaking a written assessment, please discuss it with your trainer/assessor prior to the beginning of the time for the theory assessment.

Admission & Attendance

All attendees MUST have a USI (Unique Student Identifier). We are unable to issue a credential unless a valid USI has been provided.
